Vision
I’m Dragoș, and I’m the founder of the ‘Rural Camps‘ project. I’m a graduate of the National University of Physical Education and Sports, with a double specialization in athletics and swimming.
Even during my college years, I got involved in sports education and development projects designed for children. These experiences helped me gain valuable skills working with children, which gave me the confidence to start my own projects.
I can say that the idea of themed countryside camps has been with me for a while. Many discussions with parents encouraged me to notice that many children don’t have grandparents or relatives in the countryside. Additionally, I’ve participated in numerous camps over the years as a beneficiary, which has given me a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon. I know what I need to offer children for them to see camp as an escape from routine and a boundless joy!
Why do I organize camps in Lerești? Because that’s where I grew up, and I’m well aware of the potential this place holds—it can be a paradise on Earth for the little ones. Whether it’s the forests, the air, the Gagea house, the melodious chirping of birds, or all of these combined, the fact remains that every child MUST (and I’m not just saying this!) experience a countryside vacation! Because country living is all about simplicity and absolute freedom. There are no restrictions that limit discoveries and simple pleasures.
I’m eagerly awaiting for you to send your child to camp because I already know the impressions they will come back with. Many children have benefited from these camps, and each time, without exception, they left with the same eagerness and longing to return. Often, the longing would set in while they were still at camp. It’s not easy to step through the DOOR OF HAPPINESS (yes, we actually have one!), to stay in the realm of Supreme Goodness, and leave without a lump in your throat. Some of them negotiated skillfully and persuaded their parents to let them come back. So, I have a warning to issue: I can’t guarantee that once a camp experience is ticked off the list, your child won’t develop a strong appetite for more and won’t engage in lengthy and persistent negotiations to attend the second, third, and more camps…
